Tutoring Location for RMHS Club
Our names are Jennifer Wang and Jean Lee, and we are currently a pre-IB sophomore at Richard Montgomery High School. We have recently founded a club called Teens2Kids, which is intended to tutor and bring activities to spark interest in elementary school students in the subjects of Math, Reading, and Writing. We have attached our club mission statement for you convenience. We are currently looking for a school that we can visit weekly for a couple hours right after school ends on Fridays, and we would love it if you would consider having us at Twinbrook Elementary School. If you have any interest in our club, please email us back, and we would be more than happy to work out some more deatils. If it is preferable, we would also be willing to set up a face-to-face or phone meeting on your time. Thank you very much for your consideration, and we hope to be working with you in the future! Sincerely, Jennifer Wang and Jean Lee Jennifer: jenniferwang.usa@gmail.com Jean: yjnlee@

JJ Express Educational Magazine
Good evening, I am a volunteer working at JJ Express Magazine, and we're trying to reach as many youth as possible with our non-profit, educational magazine designed for students of all ages. JJ Express Magazine is dedicated to educating young people, targeted mainly for 9-16 year olds, about world issues. JJ Express also strives to appeal to this audience by depicting these issues through comics, and is supplemented by other features such as stories, articles, activities, and more. Its entertaining yet informative content would be a great addition to your libraries and classrooms. JJ Express is non-profit, and run by students and alumni of MCPS. I myself am also a student of Montgomery County, as I attend Richard Montgomery HS. If you are interested, we are willing to send you a free issue so you can get a sense of what we're about. For more information, please contact the editor Jenny Chen at editor@jjexpressmagazine.org and feel free to visit our website, www.jjexpressmagaz

Assembly about Children in the Amazon
Dear Mr. Barnett, Ms. Oldach, and Mr. Thomson, My name is David Reeks. I spent k-12 in the MCPS and I now live in Brazil. My wife, Renata, and I research children’s games and toys. Our most extensive research was done in the Amazon. The results of our 10 months there were woven into a successful assembly that we've presented over 20 D.C area schools. (See link below) http://www.projetobira.com/en/presentations/ I’m writing because we will be back to the D.C. area again this Winter, and I was wondering if Twinbrook ES would be interested in an assembly experience. Due to our work schedule in Brazil, we won’t be stateside for very long and therefore have limited dates: December 21, 22, 23, and January 5. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions. Sincerely, David Reeks Projeto BIRA http://www.projetobira.com/en/bira-in-a-nutshell/bira-video/ Submitted By: David Reeks

Free Scholastic Events and Fundraising Programs from Kaplan Tutoring
Dear President, My name is Erin, and I am new to Kaplan Tutoring. I wanted to introduce myself to you because we not only offer great tutoring programs for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, but also free events like spelling bees, math challenges, and parent workshops. As well, we offer help with your fundraising efforts by donating services to auctions and/or creating what we call a “Learn and Earn” partnership. (Essentially, for any student from your school who enrolls in our program -- at a discounted rate -- we donate $50-$100 to Twinbrook). Last, if you are already planning any group education programs, we offer great discounts. I would love to coordinate a time to meet you in person and discuss these opportunities in greater detail. I know your schedule must be tight; when is a good time for us to connect? All the best, Erin 301-765-9239 Submitted By: Erin Schaal

JSSA wants to become involved with parent education
Hello Twinbrook PTA, My name is Robyn Levy and I am a social worker with the Jewish Social Service Agency. We are a non profit, non sectarian agency that works to help children and families deal with mental health concerns. We would love to find a way to work with the Twinbrook community to bring information and resources to parents. Our staff here at JSSA have been providing educational talks for years on a wide range of topics, such as stress management, talking to your child about difficult times, divorce and separation, helping your ADHD child in the classroom and at home and many other topics that are relevant to today's children and families. I would love to talk with you more about how we can work with the Twinbrook PTA to bring some of this information to your parents. I can be reached via email at rlevy@jssa.org or at (301) 610-8393. Best, Robyn Levy, LCSW-C Jewish Social Service Agency Submitted By: Robyn Levy
